Consortium Activities
The Lead REACH Consortium works to ensure the continued safe, sustainable and compliant use of lead and its substances in the face of the REACH and CLP Regulations.
The Consortium has an extensive and engaged workplan for its technical and advocacy work. Currently, the Consortium is particularly active in addressing Registration updates, and defence under Authorisation and Restriction. The Consortium actively reviews the industry self-classification under the CLP Regulation of lead metal and lead substances, in line with the latest scientific knowledge. It is also involved in a number of research activities and voluntary initiatives that go beyond the requirements of current legislation.
Subject to agreement by the Steering Committee, the Consortium will also oversee the UK REACH Registrations of its substances.
